Players are to get to their practices and games on time. You should be dressed and ready to go 1/2 hour before games and 10 minutes before practices.
-
Players should practice at home either with parents or with neighborhood kids. This is crucial for developing your skills to become a better ball player. One or two practices a week are a good foundation to becoming a better player, but it is not enough! So get out in the yard and practice on a daily basis.
-
If there is a complaint or a problem, please go to the head coach in private. Talking with other players or saying something negative about the coach will create more problems and the coach will lose their credibility with the players and parents.
-
Do not yell at the umpires or the other team. Let the coach deal with the umpires. Cheer for your teamates and your team only. Let’s show everyone that your team has CLASS...
-
Practice at home the same way you practice with your team. If your mom or dad tell you something different than your coach, tell them right away before you practice it so you and your parents can talk it over with the coach.
-
Educate yourself about the game!! Read books, practice, ask questions, get involved, do anything that you can to learn the game.
-
Get the proper equipment to play the game. Do not wear tennis shoes to play baseball or softball.
-
When the coaches are talking, do not talk with your parents or other players. This is an interruption to the rest of the team and with your cooperation it will make it much easier to communicate with the team.
-
If you are going to be late or are going to miss a game, call the coach at least 24 hours ahead of time. If you are going on vacation, please give 2 weeks notice if possible.
-
Always give 110% on and off the field.
-
Be a “Team Player.”
-
Don’t make excuses just results.
-
Always be prepared to enter a game and contribute.
